OMEALS wouldn't exist without the incredible people who support and bring our meals with them on their adventures. One of the best parts of our business is knowing that we can be there beside you - on the water, on the trails, and wherever life takes you! As a team, we have been privileged to meet some pretty amazing outdoor enthusiasts, adventurers, and athletes and we thought you would love to get the chance to meet them and learn more about them as well. Team OMEALS is all of us. It's the community of people who pack up their bag, throw an OMEALS in, and take on the day! We are excited to showcase some of our friends with you - follow along!
October's TEAM OMEALS SPOTLIGHT is Chris Santoro - or YakFishChris as you may know him from Instagram and YouTube. We asked him a few questions so you could relate, get to know him better, and learn more about how he includes OMEALS into his personal life and fishing adventures.
1. Who are you? Tell us a little about yourself.
I am a kayak fisherman and live outside of Philadelphia, PA. The outdoors is where I feel most comfortable in this world. Fishing, camping, hiking, exploring; I crave adventure and new experiences. I tournament bass fish and travel all around the country to compete and search for trophy freshwater bass. I usually video my adventures and try to capture as much of the memory as possible. With the jersey shore only an hour away, freshwater isn't the only type of fishing I do. Striped bass, sheepshead, tautog, and fluke are the targets. I like to think I am a funny, outgoing guy who can get along with just about anyone.
2. How did you hear about OMEALS & why did it interest you?
I heard about OMEALS through YakTribe. I saw the meals featured in Instagram stories and photos and grew more and more curious. It interested me because it is very difficult to pack and eat a filling, hot meal on a kayak. OMEALS made that a possibility. When I finally got my hands on a meal, I was hooked.
3. How have you incorporated OMEALS into your life & adventures?
I use them on every trip I take. Meals during a 10-hour long day of tournament fishing are crucial to keeping you alert, sharp and focused. They are easy to load into my tackle crate on my kayak, fit easily into my front hatch or are light enough to pack multiple in a pack on a hike or camping trip.
4. What's your favorite flavor?
Southwest Styles Chicken and Rice for the win!
