I agree with other reviews, they taste like real food - unlike the military MRE's I've used before. However, the serving is about half-size. A real bowl of stew or chili would take two of these, or about $20 per bowl. This site says I can add up to 5 pictures, but there is no means to do that. I'd like to show a side-by-side comparison of the package and reality.
This is easy to fix and great to bring along especially if out on a cold hike. I think it has a really great taste, though not a large portion so plan to have other food to eat. The bag also gets hot, so it doubles as a really nice warmer too ( watch out for the steam). I mostly love the convenience of it. It really came in handy when there was a fire ban in our National Forest, even Jetboils, so this was a great way to have hot food.
I wanted to try this meal as I do trade shows, during set up days there is no food available and waste time getting fast food that only weighs you down for the rest of the day. My team and I tried different meals and were impressed with the quick prep time and it was just a right amount of food to take the hunger away and not be sluggish after eating. The taste was good for being a MRE with heater and looking forward to ordering more meals in the future. Turkey Chili does Rock!!!!
